Solane, the country’s leading LPG solutions provider, recently held its first basketball cup

tournament at the Balabag basketball court in Boracay aptly named the Solane Boracay 

Cup. The event aimed to promote camaraderie and sportsmanship in a competitive and

tournament is also part of Solane’s corporate social responsibility program which seeks to 

help provide educational materials and school equipment to public schools. Winners in the

These honorifics are very much a reflection of the many facets of her luminous persona as an actress, TV host, movie producer, and corporate executive – not to mention wife and mother – and now as the sparkling brand Ambassador of My Diamond.

The story of how she gained a foothold in the world of entertainment is almost like a fairy tale. Growing up in the bucolic island of Calapan, Oriental Mindoro, Charo was, first and foremost, an unabashed movie fan. Apart from her critically-acclaimed cinematic performances, she is host of the top-rating drama series “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” a successful movie producer, and television executive as CEO of ABS-CBN—the first woman to take the top helm within the network—until her retirement last year. She also marked a triumphant return to film, appearing in Lav Diaz’s “Ang Babeng Humayo,” which bagged the coveted Golden Lion at the 2016 Venice Film Festival which earned her a lengthy standing ovation from audience.

Today Charo’s brilliance still continues to shine like the rare gem that she is. It’s no surprise then that she now assumes the role of My Diamond’s newest brand ambassador, perfectly embodying the brand’s “Choose True Brilliance” spirit, and the finely crafted jewelry pieces that they carry.
